The Ross Who Knew Too Much

Thursday, June 16, 2005

In brief

-- Rachael thinks Ted Leo fans totally reek! (Note to Rachael: Sleater-Kinney fans don't smell all that rosy either.)

-- The Foo Fighters and Weezer are discussing a possible fall tour together. (Talk about a bill made in heaven. Too bad both bands' new albums, uh, reek.)

-- Be on the lookout for shady characters selling copies of the Voltage compilation CD.

-- Newly announced First Avenue shows: Static-X and American Head Charge (the band's first local show since the death of guitarist Bryan Ottoson), July 23; Evan Dando (in the Entry), July 25; the Shout Out Louds are added to the already-great Secret Machines/Kings of Leon bill, July 28; Teenage Fanclub, July 29; Le Tigre (bleah), Aug. 9; Obituary and Napalm Death, Sept. 13; and -- this is the big one -- the Arcade Fire, Sept. 29.

-- If you're not going to the Walt Mink reunion Friday night at the Triple Rock, you better head over to the Entry for the Vicious Vicious CD release party. (Or else check out the Heliotrope experimental music festival.)
