The Ross Who Knew Too Much

Thursday, June 02, 2005

In brief

-- The Strokes are set to release album No. 3 in January. I, for one, can't wait to hear it.

-- Franz Ferdinand's sophomore disc is due in September.

-- Following the surprising news that his ex married some short, fey country star, Jack White went and got hitched in South America. (By the way, the White Stripes' new disc, due in stores Tuesday, is quite excellent. And I'm not quite sure I believe that Jack White actually got married.)

-- You want to hear my new favorite band? Check them out here.

-- In who-saw-this-one-coming news, Linda Perry -- the sort of annoying former 4 Non Blonde who has become a superstar-songwriter-for-hire for the likes of Courtney Love, Pink and Kelly Osbourne -- has gone and signed a deal with Kill Rock Stars.

-- My weekend plans include the Dears on Friday, a birthday party on Saturday night, at least one meal with my visiting mom at a place that seems like it might become my new favorite eatery and a Sunday spent nursing one of these while watching this with Brock Tune.
