The Ross Who Knew Too Much

'What is an Indie-Yuppie?'

As a journalist, my inbox is cluttered with all sorts of excitable pitches from publicists looking to achieve some rather questionable goals.

Like, for example, the one I've pasted below. (Names have been removed to protect the guilty.)

Dear Ross,

What is an Indie-Yuppie? (Redacted) from (Redacted) available to discuss.

The term "Indie-yuppie" is being tossed around in the media these days to describe young urban professionals (think: hipsters) who shop in the trendiest stores, and devour the hottest cutting edge music and film.

(Redacted), co-founder of (Redacted), can discuss:

-- Who are indie-yuppies?
-- What are they spending their money on?
-- What are they listening to?
-- What are the NEXT trends they are going to like?

To schedule an interview, please contact me at (Redacted) or (Redacted).

Ahem.
